Our research

The Ottawa Stroke Program is very active academically. We have been at the forefront of stroke research for over a decade helping experimental treatments become the standard of care. Our clinician-scientists play integral roles in the development of best practice guidelines for stroke.

Our program is particularly interested in acute treatments for ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, secondary stroke prevention, and the ethics of clinical research. We utilize a broad range of research methodologies to investigate these issues, ranging from interventional trials to research registries to surveys.

We’ve received funding from several funding agencies and have a consistent output of over 30 manuscripts a year.
